I?m on my 7th G5 in 2 ? miserable years of doing little more than
troubleshooting. The last time, in December, they replaced the the PowerMac
with an iMac. The latest, last week, brought an Intel.
I hope I?m not off topic, but the guy at Apple just told me that my problem,
i.e., when my Mail launches to send me a scheduled reminder, iCal also
launches, is supposed to happen. It?s rather startling to have my iCal
suddenly pop up in front of me 4 or 5 times a day. I can?t find anything in
either set of preferences to change it and it?s driving me nuts. IS this a
?feature? or am I starting on a whole new set of problems? My Software
Update doesn?t work either. Launches and quits. And I can?t install this
version of the OS on my externals? System software says not.

Thanks, I hope I didn?t go too far astray, this is the first time I?ve ever posted
    anything.

for that inane stupid ical bouncing, get a little program called Dock
Detox and make it stop doing that annoying-as-crap-stuff forever

    www.unsanity.com/haxies/dockdetox

shame on apple for so much unfinished crap and insufferable arrogance
toward loyal (and new) users (very much like another well-known software
    giant)

safari gets more sluggish with every damn update! Mail has major pitfalls
and bugs, spotlight is spotty and unresponsive, and forget the stupid
worthless, worse than it ever was FINDER!

prior to installing 10.4.7, i was able to sync my treo 650 with iCal and
    Address Book; iCal and Address Book syncs with .Mac and Entourage;
Entourage syncs with Outlook on my office pc; and Outlook syncs with my
Blackberry 8700. therefore, all i needed to do was enter an appointment or a
contact in one device, and all the three other devices would be in sync.

i recently upgraded to 10.4.7 and now, i have problems synching: (1) iCal and
Address Book can no longer sync with my treo 650, and (2) iCal and Address
Book can't sync with Entourage either.

after installing 10.4.7, i noticed that my treo 650 cant sync with iCal and
Address Book. i always get the error "isync conduit synchronization failed.
( the first time it happened, i checked isync, and enabled palm os synching.
after that, i was able to sync my palm, but for one time only. after that, i
    couldnt sync anymore.)

then i noticed that iCal and Address Book wouldnt sync with Entourage
    anymore.

i also noticed that iCal starts-up even if i dont activate it. when iCal starts-up,
the beach ball spins for around two minutes before it responds; if i click an
entry to edit it, the beach ball would likewise spin for a minute or two before i
    can edit it.

can somebody help? how do i restore synching between my treo 650 and iCal
& Address Book? how do i restore synching with Entourage? thanks.
