iTunes 5.0.1 Special Report: iTunes will not launch
If you are experiencing problems with iTunes 5.0.1 failing to launch, or having extremely long launch delays (accompanied by the spinning beach ball progress indicator), try removing any third-party plug-ins from the folder:
- ~/Library/iTunes/iTunes Plug-ins
Quit then restart iTunes.

- Problems downloading through Software Update
