Illustrator CS 12.0.1 (#3): Re-released updater fixes prior issues
Last week we reported on some issues with installation of the latest Illustrator CS2 update, version 12.0.1. In particular, users were receiving the message that the update failed, or if given a successful installation message noticed that the application itself was not updated.
The problem was caused, in some cases, by the removal of ar.lproj files (language resources) and/or absence of the Illustrator Read Me.pdf file.
It now appears that Adobe has re-released the 12.0.1 updater, rectifying these issues. So if you've had a failed update attempt, try re-downloading the new release through Adobe's automatic software update mechanism.

important, after dumping your current version of the app, before
reinstalling it, to empty the trash as per the uninstall instructions on the CS 2
CD.
