iPod nano Special Report: Release notes

On September 7th, Apple announced the latest addition to its iPod family, the iPod nano. The device carries dimensions of 3.5 x 1.6 x 0.27 inches, weighs 1.5 ounces, sports a 1.5-inch color LCD display and claims up to 14 hours of battery life.

iPod nano comes in two models?the 4GB iPod nano holds up to 1,000 songs and the 2GB iPod nano holds up to 500 songs. Both models feature the same 30-pin dock connector as the iPod and iPod mini, allowing compatibility with virtually all current iPod accessories.

The 4GB and 2GB white and black models of iPod nano for Mac or Windows carry suggested retail prices of $249 (US) and $199 (US) respectively
