iWeb 1.0: Crashes with media browser

by CNET staff

Several readers have reported crashes that occur when attempting to access the media browser function within iWeb.

MacFixIt reader Jon writs:

"When i open the media box, the computer starts to hang. Clicking and moving around the program freezes up my system. I've had to force quit out 10 times in 20 minutes. But when it's not freezing up my computer, I'm really enjoying it."

I haven't had a problem with it crashing in this way. However I do note that I
have two instances of the Help menu item in iWeb. The first with the full suite of
Help options and the second (which is also non-functional), just lists the iWeb
Help menu item. This is consistent after multiple restarts and launches of the
    app.

Both iWeb and Garageband 3.0 are crashing when I access the media browser.
The crash doesn't hang the program, it simply vanishes. All work is lost and the
program stops running completely. I get the "close, reopen" dialog box and I
    have to relaunch the program.
