Mac OS X 10.4: Reverting to Mac OS X 10.3.x
If you find any problems presented by Mac OS X 10.4 too severe or disruptive to critical workflow processes, you may want to consider reverting to Mac OS X 10.3.x (Panther) as described in our tutorial "Reverting to an earlier version of Mac OS X."

least by using the 10.3 installer CD. The installer CD won't even boot up, but
gives no alert message indicating the nature of the problem.
On the other hand, I installed 10.3 on a second internal drive on my older G5
that had come with 10.3. I then moved that 10.3 disk into the new 10.4 G5,
and using the Startup Disk preference panel specified the 10.3 system as the
boot system. It booted up just fine in 10.3, and a couple days later I've yet to
encounter any compatibility problems.
