Apple has released iPhoto 5.0.4, a maintenance update to its consumer-level photo organization and editing software.

Apple says the new release "addresses an issue with browsing photos that have been auto-rotated by a camera."

This is apparently the bug documented extensively here on MacFixIt where iPhoto 5.0.3 consistently crashes when attempting to rotate an image. The crash could also occur when browsing images in Edit mode using the left and right navigation arrows.

iPhoto 5.0.4 is available through Software Update, or as a 39.2 MB standalone download.
