Mighty Mouse: Problems with horizontal/diagonal scrolling

Problems with horizontal/diagonal scrolling A few MacFixIt readers are reporting issues using the horizontal scroll function of the newly shipping Apple Mighty Mouse.

For instance, when using the scroll ball in the Web browser FireFox, horizontal movement (of the scroll wheel) moves the user back and forth through recently visited pages by default. However, a number of users report that when attempting to scroll vertically, the horizontal (page switching) function is inadvertently invoked.

Users also report extreme difficulty using the advertised diagonal scrolling functionality. Instead of a smooth, 45 degree angle movement, users report a jerky motion reminiscent of an Etch-A-Sketch.
