Macromedia Collaborate preview; Xserve RAID; more

Macromedia Contribute preview PC Magazine has posted a preview of Contribute, a new HTML editor from Macromedia that "lets nontechnical users update existing Web sites easily, without fear of wreaking havoc on the design." The article states that the new tool means business users no longer have to hire a high-priced Web designer for low-level site maintenance (such as changing prices or adding and deleting products). And professional Web designers can off-load the task of trivial updates while still maintaining control over a site's structure and code. More.

Apple delays Xserve RAID release A posting to Apple's Xserve Web site reads "We've received an overwhelming thumbs-up on our Xserve 1U rack-mount server from customers and reviewers since it started shipping in July, and now we're working hard to deliver Xserve's companion RAID product in early 2003, not by the end of calendar 2002 as originally announced." Apple has yet to offer an explanation for the delay. More.

ShareTheMac software compilations The ShareTheMac UsersGroup has released 3 new CDs, each containing a compilation of shareware offerings: an Applications CD, a Utilities CD, and a Fonts CD with several TrueType faces. Each CD is priced at $9 US. The Applications and Utilities CDs will not be available until December 10th, but can be pre-ordered now. More.
