"International Data Group (IDG), the corporate parent of Macworld, and Ziff-Davis, publisher of MacUser and MacWeek, announced today that they have formed a joint venture called Mac Publications that will consolidate the three magazines. Under the plan announced today, the new company will publish MacWeek as a weekly news magazine and Macworld as a single monthly that incorporates MacUser.
The first issue of MacWeek to be published under the joint venture will appear in September. The November issue of Macworld, which is mailed to subscribers in mid-September, will be the first to combine Macworld and MacUser. The October 1997 MacUser will be the last published under that name."
