Fixing Cyberdog 2.0b2 freezes and delays
John Seal picked up the following information from a Cyberdog newsgroup:
If Cyberdog 2.0b2 freezes when you click on the "Languages" icon in the Cyberdog Preferences dialog box, or if you get long (2-20 second) pauses whenever you try to do almost anything: the optional Text Encoding Converter software is probably the cause. Apparently, the b2 Installer doesn't remove all of the alpha-version Text Encodings.
The solution is to open the Text Encodings folder in the System folder and remove alpha versions of: Western-Language Encodings and Unicode Encodings.
