After Connectix pre-announced the OS update in its Virtual PC 6.0 ReadMe file, Apple has released Mac OS X 10.2.3 via the Software Update component. The update is a 51 MB download. The description, from Software Update, is as follows:

"The 10.2.3 Update delivers enhanced functionality and improved reliability for the following applications, utilities, and technologies: AppleScript, Classic compatibility, Disk Copy, Disk Utility, Image Capture, Mail, OpenGL, Print Center, and Rendezvous. It provides audio, disc recording, graphics, printing improvements, as well as AFP and WebDAV networking improvements. The update also provides updated security services and includes the latest Security Updates."

New Knowledge Base articles describe the new update, as well as Mac OS X Server 10.2.3:

  • (#107263) Mac OS X: About the Mac OS X 10.2.3 Update
  • (#107264) Mac OS X: About the Mac OS X 10.2.3 Update (Combo)
  • (#107265) Mac OS X Server: About the Mac OS X Server 10.2.3 Update
  • (#107266) Mac OS X Server: About the Mac OS X Server 10.2.3 Update (Combo)

UPDATE: After installing Mac OS X 10.2.3 on our in-house Power Macintosh G4/733, iTunes and other applications fail to recognize the presence of the internal CD-RW/DVD combo drive. No external devices seem to be adversely affected.

No longer gives an option to adjust iSub output volume. Or iSub is
    not being recognised.

I am no longer experiencing a problem with iSub. I think a cable
    had come loose!

I have an iBook 600MHz with the cdr-dvd combo drive. After installing the 10.2.3 update, iTunes no longer recognized the cd and neither did Toast. I shut down the mac and turned it back on and it now recognizes the cdr.

I am not sure but I have a feeling that close-minimize-zoom buttons in some metal windows like Address Book or iChat got a bit dented.

Weatherpop seems to be disabled after the update (on both machines that have the update): worked fine immediately before the upgrade.

my weatherpop works fine after the update. in fact, it has gone from
the free version back to the full version (which i haven't paid for)
guess weatherpop thinks i'm a brand new computer since the
    update to 10.2.3

This was also the case for myself, but after opening the Palm Hotsync Manager, I discovered that it had deselected the Keyspan Adapter under Connection Settings. Re-enabling it, as one would expect, fixed the problem.

Got the MacOS X 10.2.3 update, which claimes to include OpenGL 1.4. However, upon browsing through the Frameworks listed under the Apple System Profiler, OpenGL is listed as being 1.2.1.

I am uncertain if someone just fogot to change a version number, if the update is incomplete, or if the update did not apply properly.

For What it is worth, I updated, checked the version # of Open GL and it listed the same as you...v1.2.1 The only problems so far with this upgrade has been with "Links Championship Edition 1.0.4, crashed upon launching start, Reinstalled the program, and it seems to be fine.

    Hi!

So I upgraded via the software update and 1 day later my dock
reverted to the Mac OS X default and now if I issue a 'empty trash'
command, nothing happens. The files remain is the trash....

Upon inserting an audio cd I get an error message saying I have inserted a volume that can't be read by os x. This occurs on discs that had no problem. I first got this error about two weeks ago when I went to play Korn's latest cd for the first time having said that I figured it was copy protected. I now can't read any discs with music on them after I updated(may not be the cause) It appears the audio cd extension or whatever has corrupted?
