Solution for TaxCut online ordering problem

Previously unavailable through any medium, the state software for Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X is now posted for download at TaxCut.com but is not available for purchase on CD. Unfortunately, there is a Web site error that may prevent many credit card holders from successfully completing the download.

If your credit card lists your middle initial, you must enter it in the first name field on the website with one space between your first name entry and the initial. Failure to do so will result in a 30024002-0 error (failure to verify credit card information), while any attempt after the first error will result in a 30024003-0 code (repeated failure to verify info, order frozen).

MacFixIt reader Mark Colman writes:

"You will not be permitted to place an order until you call 1-952-253-8558 and get a CSR to e-mail accounting for you. Accounting is only open M-F during normal business hours and are the only H&R Block staff who can 'unfreeze' the order. Hopefully this will help some of MacFixit's readers avoid the same frustration I faced while trying to complete my state taxes this past weekend."
