Apple has released iMovie 3.0.3, which provides improved performance and stability, to the Ken Burns Effect allow greater pan and zoom control on digital images, and make it easier to crop digital stills.

QuickTime 6.3 is required for improvements to audio sync and audio integrity.

Readers are reporting that this release removes performance bottlenecks and eliminates some strange bugs like not being able to enter full-screen mode.

However, users are also reporting that some issues, particularly artifacts and audio/video synchronization mis-cues in files created by iMovie 2.1, remain.

I have been having problems with iMovie ever since Apple came
out with iLife and iMovie 3. My problem is with the rewind and fast
forward buttons on iMovie.First I would like to say I have never had
a problem with iMovie up until now with iMovie 3, I have been
running the same cam-corder for over 4 years and have had no
problems, I have been talking to Apple's product specialist's for
over 3 months on this problem, I have done everything they have
asked me to do on my end and I now from the start that it's a
problem with iMovie 3 not antthing on my end, again I have to say
they no it and I know it , it's iMovie for sure!!!! The problem is this
when your in iMovie 3 and your playing your cam-corder and your
tape is playing on your computer screen and you want to rewind
and fast forward your tape (while the tape is playing) after 5 or 6
minutes of fast forward and rewinding the buttons stop working you
really have to stay with rewinding and fast forwarding for at least 5
or 6 minutes for it to stop working I think people might miss this for
this reason they are not staying with it long enough, this is a major
flaw in iMovie 3 Please someone please help us on this I am not
the only one with this problem I know everyone has to have this
same problem all my freinds do. Please someone contact me at
pez508@rcn.com or call me at 617-364-8681 or 617-359-5273
Please let's fix this flaw in iMovie!!!!!!!!!

I have experienced this same problem. The fast forward and rewind
buttons in the iMovie interface fail to operate the camera after some
    time.
My only solution has been to stop the tape then quit and relaunch
    iMovie.
A bit of a pain, but it has worked for me.
