Update to OmniPage Pro X fixes Mac OS X install problem, still has Photoshop plug-in problems

In January, we noted problems with installing OmniPage Pro X under Mac OS X 10.2.x. For most users, the installation ceases when it is almost complete (generally after installing about 870 of the 890 or so files.)

An update to OmniPage Pro X, available on CD from ScanSoft (OmniPage's developer) apparently fixes the issue. Unfortunately, you will have to contact ScanSoft directly in order to obtain the working CD.

As an alternative, you can either startup in Mac OS 9 to install OmniPage Pro , or dig into the InstallerMaker archives and launch the "OmiPage Pro X English" file using the "Open with Classic" option in the Get Info dialog box.

The software still does not recognize Photoshop 7 plug-ins.

If you install OmniPage Pro X as ROOT, you won't get the install errors.
Then all you need to do is change the permission rights to accommodate
whatever your particular user needs are.

I had no problem installing the old vesion on my iMac but I
couldn't scan from an HP Scanjet 4570c. WIth the just installed
new version of OmniPage Pro X, when I try to scan from OmniPage
to the Twain driver (HP precision scan DS v1.4.0) Omni Page
crashes. I am waiting for OmniPage techs to call me back with
    more information.

I contacted ScanSoft Customer Service this afternoon (Wednesday
7/2) and was told by the service rep that she had not heard of any
such fix and that to her knowledge they were still having the same
problem. She knew of no CD being available.

Plugins don't work in Mac OZ 10.3.9. After installing OmniPage Pro X I can bring
up the OmniPage program but the plugins in Photoshop don't work. Do you have
    a solution.
