Speed demon Australia's Age decided to put a G5 to a real-world test: give it to the image department. "[A member of the image centre's] view supports an anecdote making the rounds of Melbourne's graphics houses, about the operator who liked to have a coffee while her machine rendered an image. She had reprocessed a particular page four times before she realised the machine was so fast, the job was done before she could turn around - no time for coffee." More.

The end of Moore's law A CNET story covers a recent paper from Intel researchers that predicts a "fundamental limit" to transistor scaling will be reached by approximately 2018. More.
