Apple seeing shift in developer profile InternetNews.com reports that Apple is seeing a definite shift in the types of the people building for its operating system. According to the article Apple is seeing "a spike in the number of enterprise code writers. The company said it has seen a large number of UNIX, Java and Open Source developers migrating to its Mac OS X operating system." More. Mac networkers retreat conference announced MacRetreats has announced the first Mac Networkers Retreat, a 3-day gathering of Mac Networking and IT professionals to be held July 7 - 9 on the campus of the University of California at Santa Barbara. Campers and counselors will move into the ocean-side dorms on the campus. The conference will feature a keynote speech by Tom Yager , Test Center Technical Director and Columnist, InfoWorld; who will speak on "The State of Apple and Mac IT Offerings and How It Relates/Competes with the Rest of the Country." Mac Office 2004 by May CNET reports that Office 2004 for Mac OS X should ship by May "The company said it will start mass-producing copies of the software next week, intending to have it on retail store shelves by the third week of May."
