Adobe announced in a security bulletin yesterday that, "Critical vulnerabilities have been identified in Adobe Reader 9.1.3 and Acrobat 9.1.3, Adobe Reader 8.1.6 and Acrobat 8.1.6 for Windows, Macintosh and UNIX, and Adobe Reader 7.1.3 and Acrobat 7.1.3 for Windows and Macintosh." The vulnerabilities in question can cause the programs to crash, giving a potential attacker the ability to take control of the user's system.

The update is the second of this quarter in Adobe's update schedule and is recommended for all users. To learn more about the security threats in current versions of Adobe's software, read security expert Graham Cluley's blog post or Adobe's security bulletin.

Mac users can download the update to Adobe Reader here.
You can find the update to Adobe Acrobat here.

Has anyone seen a list of bug fixes that come with this update? It's very frustrating that the "Optimize scanned PDF" command mangles PDF documents on the Mac in Acrobat Pro 9. (It's OK on windows.) I can't seem to get Adobe to respond with a fix.

The updater for Acrobat 9 Pro to 9.2 doesn't work. It fails with a message that files are missing, plugins removed etc etc. Some people who have stripped language files (eg Mongolian. Swahili and Zulu) will see this, but mine is a Vanilla install, straight off the CS4 Install DVD and Adobe's own software can't upgrade Adobe's own software!!
Adobe's solution? uninstall Acrobat/CS4 and reinstall! Seems that Microsoft and Adobe have the same attitude to their customer base!

Me too having the same problem. What I did was to uninstall Acrobat Pro 9.1.3, reinstall it from CS4 DVD. Then run updates to 9.2.

Now I have another issue occured. Adobe Update in Photoshop CS4 prompted me to install Camera Raw Update 5.5. I did so, but after installed, wnen I run Adobe Updater, it prompt me to update Camera Raw 5.5 Plugin again and again in loop.

I downloaded Camera Raw 5.5 install file from Adobe, run it separately. It won't do anything, stated that I have already had Camera Raw 5.5 installed.

So how can I get out of this annoying problem. Adobe I paid for the product that is getting more and more buggy and complicate!

My copy of Acrobat stopped working after updating to Snow Leopard. I can't even use the Master Collection Installer anymore, great job, Adobe!!

I recently had Adobe send me an update notice for 9.2, which I installed, and it seems to work pretty well, except for one thing: I use an online web calendar called keepandshare, and since updating, my .pdf printouts of that calendar are doing funky things, like showing formatting and changing the font colors. I upgraded to Snow Leopard, OS 10.6 last month, before this Adobe update. Anyone else having such a problem? The older versions of Adobe only list OS to 10.5, although that was what was running before this update.
