Although the car won't be available until 2010, GM introduced the production version of the game-changing Chevrolet Volt today. The Volt is an electric vehicle that recharges its lithium ion batteries from an AC outlet or an onboard gas engine. The production version looks very different from the concept car that was shown in 2007, with a design intended to be more aerodynamic while providing seating for four. GM also released pictures of the cabin, giving us a look at the cars futuristic controls and LCDs.

Yeah!...... They originally show you this sweet sexy little roadster then pop up with a Toyota... Beep! Beep! Oh well so much for my mid life electric car. This one sucks.

I would of gotten the original. They can keep this Toyota knockoff! And this is another reason why I hate going to the Annual Car Shows. Get you hooked on one thing and give you mediocrity later. YUCK! I had a 1969 camero and fell in love with the new ones until I saw the dash! What a waste....... Oh-Well!

what a shame. I started going through the pictures and the first one that pops up is the concept car. the next picture is the production version. what a disappointment. and the kicker is that they want 40K for this thing. Why? i might as well go buy any average honda or toyota for 15K cheaper than this ho-hum boring car. it is funny how they rushed this thing out the door after the initial concept car was shown and everyone got excited, and now they are just going to be sitting in dealer lots until chevy calls it a failure. Just goes to show you that GM cant do anything right.

Too bad they did not have the "will' to go with the concept. Some times you must take a step forward to go forward.

While GM will take 2 more years to bring this car to market, Toyota & Honda are going to sell a hec of a lot of hybrids. Also, whose going to plunk down an estimated $40k MSRP for a car that essentially looks like a Malibu? Gimme a break. Hey Rick, not only does GM need to build cars people actually want to buy, they need to sell them for a price they are willing to pay. $40k is ridiculous for this car.

This car looks a bit better than the nasty looking Aztec. It is a damn shame that the same effort put to design and build the H2 and H3 is not put into a car which can change the image of the American automotive industry. It will be a sad day when GM sells to a Chinese company, but producing cars such as the $40,000 Volt , puts GM one step closer to the ********'s control.
