2010 Ford Fusion still looks like a multiblade razor

The new Ford Fusion has been revealed and guess what, it still looks like a multiblade razor.

The three-bar grill has expanded beyond the frame of the headlamps and now dominates the front end of the vehicle. While the headlamps themselves shrink in size and become more aggressive and horizontal in orientation. The lower grill loses its horizontal bars to become a gaping maw.

Under the hood, the Fusion (and by association, the Mercury Milan) receives three powerplant options. The first is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that features fuel saving feature called Aggressive Deceleration Fuel Shut-off. Essentially, the system cuts fuel to the engine when the accelerator is lifted and resumes fuel flow when the accelerator is reapplied or low speed is reached. This isn't the same as the stop-start tech that we see in many cars, because it curiously only works when the vehicle is in motion.

A 3.0 liter V-6 fills the midrange while a 3.5-liter six-cylinder tops the range in the Fusion Sport model. The engines output 240 and 263 horsepower, respectively. All Fusions and Milans will be equipped with an all new six-speed automatic transmission, tuned to boost engine efficiency.

I'm not in love with the styling of the new Fusion, but it is an improvement over the outgoing model.

I own a 2006 Ford Fusion and I LOVE the styling of my car, I however do not like the front end styling of this new car. It is too boxy for my tastes, whereas the older models of fusions have long, sleek, sexy lines.
However, I cannot fully judge the look of this new model based on your article simply because you have not provided enough pictures for your readers to make an honest based opinion. It would be nice to have a few more pics of the side views and back-end views of this vehicle. Thanks!

I dont understand the slams on the 1st gen styling of the Fusion and of the new styling. The car is a good car, is very reliable, and is what Ford needs at this time when the whole planet has finally rejected the monstrous SUVs that will hopefully become extinct in the next 8-9 years as they roll into the metal crushers and off every road and parking lot in the US.
No other automotive magazine has ever derided the unique and distinctive styling as being a razor. Quite the opposite, they have praised the car and the look, unfortunately the emphasis has been to push higher profit SUVs untill way too late.
Let's hope others dont forget competivie FORD products such as the FUsion and therefore cut our throats by seeing it and Mopar and GM into oblivion.

Personally, I like the look of the '09 Fusion. I don't think there's anything wrong with the front actually. Just an opinion. The Fusion is a nice car- but has MAJOR differences between their lower end model (S) and the SE and SEL. In the S it has only 2 wheel drive, no stability control, and lacks a few important extras. It also has a not-so-great acceleration. The SE and SEL, though, can get the V6 engine, all wheel drive, stability control, and since it's a different engine a much-improved acceleration. If you get the Fusion I'd recommend either the SE or the SEL- But that's just me.
