Mercedes-Benz released early pictures of the upgraded E-class, set to launch at the Geneva auto show. The E-class features new styling, driver aid electronics, updated cabin tech, and even massage seats. Photos: 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-class preview

Mercedes-Benz restyled its E-class sedan and updated the electronics, following up on last year's updated C-class. The new E-class borrows a lot of equipment from more upscale Mercedes-Benz models, including massage seats and adaptive cruise control, but also gets the new cabin tech package from the C-class, which features superior iPod control and Bluetooth integration. New features for Mercedes-Benz include lane-departure warning, a driver alert system, and a new adaptive suspension.

When I first saw this car introduced I had reservations. I noticed what I thought were asian influences in the styling but have since changed my mind. Together, the individual styling aspects work well. In person, the new E Class reminds you more of an S Class or even a Maybach. I test drove the car a couple of days ago and I was very impressed by the loads of new technology. Lots of voice controlled features, a navigation system that greatly surpasses the last generation, paddle shifters, ground sucking suspension and a silky transmission. I think it is the proper progression for the E Class and I am picking mine up on Wednesday.
