Hyundai has been building some pretty good buzz recently with the all-new Genesis Sedan on showroom floors and the Genesis Coupe en route. But what about the models that fall underneath the Genesis' halo?
We take a spin in one of Hyundai's bread-and-butter models, the 2009 Elantra Touring and find that the Genesis' cabin tech hasn't yet trickled this far down the lineup. iPod integration and standard satellite radio give you something to listen to, but the single option stereo doesn't impress.
Fortunately, it's not all frowns as the Elantra Touring proves to be a peppy ride with a good amount of power for its size and handling that is predictable and controllable. If not for the archaic four-speed automatic transmission damping responsiveness, we'd almost venture to say that the little wagon has potential to be a fun ride.
