Iacocca announces special-edition Mustang

by Suzanne Ashe

Eighty-four-year-old Lee Iacocca today announced the launch of a special-edition Ford Mustang. In time to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the car that made him famous, Iaccoca revealed that only 45 of the cars will be available, beginning in July.

The 2009 1/2 model comes in silver and will be sold through Galpin Ford in Los Angeles. The car will have a classic Mustang look and comes standard with the Ford 4.6-liter V-8 rated 320 hp, or optional with a supercharged V-8 rated 400 hp.

Leave it to FORD to only make 45 Lee Iacocca Special Edition Mustangs. Looking for gimics in this market anything they can do...but only 45? Go FORD... I'm surprised that Chrysler hasn't used the Lee Iacocca name for one of their anniversary products. Next General Motors will be trying ot cash in on some big names so there can be some competition...maybe it will take them a couple years to do it though.
