The 2010 Honda Accord lineup is getting a features upgrade on certain models with an expanded application of Bluetooth HandsFreeLink to vehicles equipped with leather seating surfaces (previously exclusive to navigation-equipped models) and new rear-seat ventilation ducts on Accord Sedan EX and EX-L models for more-direct rear passenger airflow. Subtle modifications include graphically optimized climate control buttons and the addition of a trunk roof lining on Accord EX models.

Other available features include the Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System with Voice Activation and XM Radio2. The front seats are designed to provide generous lateral support and complement the Accord's sporty side. The fold-down, lockable rear seatback increases cargo-carrying versatility and also includes a lockable pass-through for long items like snow skis.

Available engine choices include a V-6 and a four-cylinder engine. The 3.5-liter, 24-valve SOHC i-VTEC V-6 engine produces 271 horsepower and takes advantage of variable cylinder management (VCM) technology that can deactivate up to half of the cylinders while cruising to improve fuel economy. The VCM system contributes to an EPA city/highway fuel economy rating of 19/29 miles per gallon in the Accord Sedan V-6.

For safety, the Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) is an exclusive body design that enhances occupant protection and crash compatibility in frontal crashes. The ACE design utilizes a network of connected structural elements to distribute crash energy more evenly throughout the front of the vehicle. This enhanced frontal crash energy management helps to reduce the forces transferred to the passenger compartment and can help to more evenly disperse the forces transferred to other vehicles in a crash.

Three audio systems are available all with MP3/Windows Media Audio (WMA) playback capability and an auxiliary input jack. The standard system provides a single-disc CD player, six speakers, and 160 watts of power. A radio data system (RDS) displays information broadcast by participating radio stations that often includes call letters, station type (searchable by genre) and programming information. Steering wheel audio controls come standard on every Accord. The Accord Sedan EX and Coupe LX-S add a six-disc in-dash changer.

Come on Honda, how about keyless ignition, and cooled seats? Even Nissan manages to keep up with the times.

Honda does offer remote starting however in states like mine It's highly illegal to leave your vehicle unattended while running, even if the doors are locked. My husband and I have had this go around several times....I'm for it, he's against.

In this day and age, I wonder how many people really care to have a CD changer in their car. I would much rather have a hard drive I could pull out and load up with music whenever I wanted to.

Even top auto companies like Honda go with WMA support. Notice they don`t support AAC.
This is a good example of Microsoft`s reach into many areas , and influence.
As someone who has used the latest Microsoft SYNC system , it is the best voice controlled/hands-free system out there and is upgradeable. Ford`s exclusivity agreement is almost up so other auto companies will start to use it. It is wonderful.

i have an 04 accord and had to spend a pretty penny replacing the climate control / factory radio system to put in a decent head unit (alpine ida x-305). my question is why car companies are making it harder and harder to put in aftermarket audio gear. I guess it is a niche market though

I have to say that out of all the non-luxury midsize cars out there, the Accord gets top spot on my own personal rating list.

Camry's are pieces of junk these days. For the first time ever, my Kia Optima is a much better ride.

Um.. where's the iPod connection? The Fit, Civic, and Pilot have it. Why not the Accord, which obviously costs more than the Civic and Fit?

It's got an AUX jack, what more could you ask for? Works with ALL media players. I'm sure if you want a designated iPod connection, you can add one yourself. I, for one, am glad it's got AUX instead of iPod only connection.

Touch Pro + streaming radio = endless enjoyment in the car, via AUX jack.

The aux connection for the ipod is in the center console. I had a 08 civic which was totaled when I was rearended by a semi-truck (came out of it with all my bones and blood) doing 35 mph. So now I am researching the heck out of the 2010 Accord and that was one of the requirements. I loved my aux jack in the civic.

I think I'd rather get a Toyota Prius!

Agreed. Exact same price range ($22k to $30k), gets double the gas mileage, and has far more advanced features at the top of the line (dynamic cruise control, lane departure, self parking, smart key, etc...)

Not that I dislike hondas or anything - if we were talking camry vs prius, I'd still say the same thing. I'd much rather have a fit or a civic hybrid though.

Same here. Our family has owned Hondas since 1997 and I have never heard a complaint from them. The complaints were NEVER ENDING when we were a Ford family. The worst complaint I've heard was when my aunt's house almost went on fire when her Ford had engine problems! But I think it was time for this family member to get something the rest of the family doesn't own and got a Toyota Prius! ^_^
