Lexus scores well with the model update to its RX 350. This luxury SUV gets new cabin tech for the 2010 model year, a suite of electronics long overdue for the brand, adding important capabilities such as traffic integrated with the navigation system, dial by name with the Bluetooth phone system, and iPod integration.

We've already seen this equipment in the HS 250h and the IS 350 C, and look forward to seeing Lexus refresh its other models similarly.

Read our review of the 2010 Lexus RX 350.

You are able to turn the "auto back to navigation" off and stay in any screen you choose. You are also able to talk to the navigation system while in motion to get directions to your destination. Perhaps it would have been a good idea to read the manual. I have not yet!!!

The RX 350 is very nice but I have a few pet peeves. The main one is the USB Ipod integration, although it "works", as Lexus has told me, it is 100% useless. Simply put there is no fast search capabilities. The only way to select a song, album or artist is to page though 5 at a time. I don?t know about you but five a time for me takes me 10 minutes just to get through the A's, lots of luck ever getting to M.... To add insult to injury every time you page through 5 songs it starts playing the song or album at the top of the list. So even if you want to go for the P's you could not listen to a particular song or album while you were doing it because it changes current the song or album every time you and click through to the next 5. The only saving grace it you can skip the USB interface and just you the ?ole Aux jack and operate your Ipod as you would walking down the street. I think this is a HUGE miss for Lexus and I can tell you from speaking with them they have no intention of running a software fix- In the words of the Preacher from Blazing Saddles "your on your own".

Another annoying item on the RX-250 is the lack of illuminated buttons & switches. The overhead buttons are not illuminated, i.e. home link and the overhead lights. They also did not illuminate the headlight switch. These are obviously things that you need when it?s dark. I find it ironic they bothered to backlight where the shifter enters into the console simply for effect and then left several key switches and buttons in the dark. Oh-well
