I am fresh out of school and I have a TON of unprinted photos. Seeing as I do not have access to my school's printing and framing equipment...where do I go? I can make 11x19 prints on my printer, but I want to go larger.

Hopefully you'll remember me. I am the guy that fell backwards & had the run-in with the security/police shooting picts of the hotel. All of that was preparation for my trip to Disney (the real reason to get the new Canon XS. I managed to do 7 days in the parks on only a 4G memory card. I edited every day & managed 756 photos in 7 days. It could have been more, but the family got tired of my obsession.
I noticed something different. I am sure it is old news to you, but it was a revelation to me. I started to use the ISO selection a lot (sunny, cloudy, night, fireworks, indoor, flash). This really threw me for a loop for the first 2 days until I realized that on 100 speed, I was able to get a lot more photos on the card than if I was using 400 speed. At first, I thought there was something wrong with the camera as my remaining number of shots (which I watched very closely) changed radically. It seemed random, until the epiphany.
I am totally fine with this now & keep it in mind as I shoot. Can you explain why the higher speeds need more space on the card.

This photo was taken at our local museum which had a lot of Christmas display items back in 2007. When I saw this display setup, it only made sense to shoot this setting in Sepia, of course I could have always shot it normally, then adjusted later but heh what do you do.

Just FYI,..I did not use a wide angle lens,that shot is stitched from about twenty 18mm shots,each shot is also a three exposure HDR so "Panoramic HDR".The reason I choose this method was because wanted to get beyond 180 degrees,and I wanted a massive print,the original is nearly 250 mega pixels.Love the shows,thanks.

I have tried to do a panoramic HDR before, it didn't turn out as well as this. I made sure I shot in full manual mode so each set of 3 exposures (0-+) were the same for each tile of the stitch. What was really hard for me was getting the same output from HDR process. So I did the stitching and created 3 panos that were all the same image, just with different exposures, and then HDR'ed it as one large image.
You really need to make sure you use a tripod with this :-) Need it for the HDR and makes the stitching better.
The pano tool I use is Kolor Autopano, and Photomatix for exposure blending / HDR.

And now, on with the notes:
Took an age to come with a concept this week that wasn't either unattainably grandiose or unutterably dull...
Then my mate and creative collaborator Andy happened to mention that he had a 'Paper-Plane-Per-Day' Desk calender and as a consequence had an abundance of paper planes laying around that he wasn't using (and was willing to set on fire in the name of art!) and thus the idea for 'Dog Fight' was born... This morning... At work... Just before break...
Some jerry rigging and messing around with Ethanol later the basic picture was in camera, the idea being to simulate an areal shot using macro to cheat the depth of field.
I decided to add the 'Pop-Frame' in post to both emphasize the dynamic of the shot and to try and echo those old '80's board game or 'Airfix' model kit boxes (Toys!).

As an addendum: We/I usually end up with at least two or three candidates for submission each week and the unenviable task of choosing the final candidate usually falls to my friend and office-mate Kay. This week however we liked the attitude of the 'hero' plane in one shot (Dog Fight 2) and the flames of the 'baddie' plane in the other (Dog Fight 3), incidentally Andy and I both felt these (the flames of DF3) echoed the Mid-air collision of to Russian Mig29s at International Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford in 1993 (Google it the footage is amazing), and couldn't really decide... Anyhoo Kay liked 'Dog Fight 2' best but Andy and I have decided to ignore her this week and have plumped for 'Dog Fight 3', feel free to let us know wether you agree with us or want to shout at us for how wrong we are (Both images available in the Photoset)...

- Could any readers recommend a digital frame that integrates with Flikr? I know some Kodak models do, but the reviews on those seem mixed. Anyone have an off-brand winner?
