I've seen in the biggest photography online store in Romania that they was selling expired Kodak Professional BW400CN film, the type of black and white film that can be proceed with the type of solutions that are used to develop color film (because at least here nobody will develop b&w film). They are writing that the more time after expiration date passes the most interesting effects can be obtain (granulation and contrast variations).
This is just a marketing technique or a photographer's technique, can you pass this to Matt because I know he's the film guru at cnet.
Allex
I have the Canon EOS 5D Mark II dslr and want to know if you can recommend a relatively inexpensive microphone for this. Thanks
George
Senior Editor Lori Grunin has been covering digital imaging for two decades, but her memory's kind of sketchy on the details. You can hear about it every week on Indecent Exposure, the podcast she co-hosts with Matt Fitzgerald.

Lori Grunin has been an avid photographer for almost 30 years, and spent the past 15 attempting to master every aspect of technology.
Matt Fitzgerald has been involved with digital camera technology and the photo industry for more than 15 years. Matthew's background includes work as a professional photographer, a technical representative, and a repair technician.

Here's my entry.

Great Show,
Matt
couple of thing to mensh this week...
andy (grapemac) is my brother... he as you know puts a lot of time ad effort into his images for your podcast... as a result his passion and enthusiasm for digital imagery/photography has grown. me and and many other feel he should take his talent more seriously or just realising how much he has would be a start. so what i am asking form you both is could you please tell him just how much talent he has and that he needs to be pursuing this in a more professional light... (no disrespect meant i actually owe you many thanks for bringing his talent and passion into the light)
enough about him! on to meeee....
me entry for this week can be found here http://www.flickr.com/photos/niwaynihao/3682704235/
this was one of the images featured in my second photographic exhibition at a local art gallery... on the day of naming the images i struggled to name this one, i have a very close friend who is also very creative who is also an artist altho her passion is illustration so i emailed her to ask her what to name this image... she ever got back to me in time so this image had to go as untitled and on the opening night of the exhibition she arrived at my house ready for us to go to the open evening i was in the huff as she hadn't helped me name this image then she turned to me and said... oh i love that image! as i discribed which one she did not help me with as she continued she said.. i would call it 'strawberries and cream' all was forgiven big hugs were had and the title was made and printed and placed under the image in time for other visitors to the gallery arrived and hat is why I'm entering this image and it depicts the typical british summer the blooming of beautiful flowers and ofcors the strawberries!
Here's my entry.

Hmmm, a name? "One Lonely Flower" works. I tried to be unique with the colors and style of it. You'd be surprised how little it was Photoshopped too. (I used a warming filter) Hope you like it.

So I took the image and did a little de-saturating and inverting and quickly added back some flowery color. I realize I don't stand a chance, looking at all of the amazing pictures already posted, but I thought I would throw my strange and perhaps patriotic hat into the ring just to mix things up.

It seems that only you can see the bigger version of this photo.
You're welcome,

I feel bad for not entering a picture in the last couple of contests. Hope this one makes up for my absence.

I wanted to evoke a feeling of tranquility with my entry. It was really early in the morning, and the sun was slowly showing itself. http://www.flickr.com/photos/22756141@N06/3692414424/

This was taken on the bank of Ullswater in the Lake District (North West England). It was actually spotted by my better half who thought it was a really beautiful shot to see such a delicate flower growing from the bottom of a dead tree stump. Anyway hope you like, Andy.
