Today's questions

Calibration

Lori and Matt

Thanks for the info about sharpening, I've read the article you posted and I can't wait to get home and start playing with it against some of my photos. Got another question for you. How do you or what do you use for calibrating your monitors? I've seen some relatively inexpensive calibration equipment and I was wondering if it was worth it to spend the $50-60 for the gear or just go off of some test prints. I recently replaced one of my dual monitors and there's a vast difference between both of them. I don't know which one to trust at this point.

here's my submission for "Cute Overload". She's the first baby in our circle of friends. Made the photo black and white and then just added a dash of color on the little pink bear. absolutely adorable!

all,
well, don't tell my wife that I put this on the web, she would kill me.

I had to wake my son up to go trick-or-treating. I was getting him dressed in his Bob the Builder costume (although he wears this "costume" all the time). He is waaaay into construction. I am not a good father if he is not welding by age 6!

I left the room for a minute & when I came back I found this (hope a diaper doesn't offend you):

Hello All,

This bunny was a won by my daughter last Easter in the local drawing they have every year here. Never thought she would win. It's the nicest animal we have ever had and would recommend them for any one.

the only way to make him happy was to put him on the tractor in the harsh sun lite.

His name is Pal Joey Doglover. This photo is set in my brother's apartment. He and his two roommates are signed up with some organization to temporarily house cats until they can find a permanent home for them. Pal is annoyingly needy and craves attention all the time, which, I guess, is understandable.

I've been wanting to try to do bokeh shapes for a while and this gave me the perfect excuse.

Wow! Love the effect!

My only only suggestion would have been to increase the exposure on the bears by 1/2 to 1 stop.

@Eric - Thanks for the comment. I was thinking the same thing when I uploaded the pic, but couldn't immediately figure out how to fix it and I wanted to make the deadline. As the contest appears to be still live, I have made the recommended changes.

My daughter when she was 3 weeks old, she used to only open one eye to see if it was worth it to open the other one. We called it her popeye face!
