.Mac gets iPhone integration, or vice versa

Apple launched a series of enhancements to its .Mac services at its special media event today. Among them is an iPhone integration function that allows photos to be sent directly from the iPhone to the new "Web Gallery" function (which offers an app-like interface to photos stored online). The same Web Gallery can be directly accessed in an iPhone-optimized fashion.

UPDATE: Go check out this URL on your iPhone: http://gallery.mac.com/emily_parker. It's Apple's .Mac Web gallery example, and it gives you a good feel for how Apple has optimized this feature for the iPhone. Albums are organized in the typical iPhone sliding-style navigation, and the resulting photo galleries render nicely on the device's screen.

Please drop us a line if you have any early feedback.

I'm wondering how to activate the service on .Mac. I see the new action on my iPhone, but it prompts me to enable it in .Mac.

Ah- you need to have web galleries established first. Then, they show up on the phone as destinations.
