AT&T turns off detailed billing for most customers

AT&T is sending out text messages to customers indicating that it will no longer, by default, include detailed billing on monthly customers statements. The detailed bills, which included notes on every data transmission made over EDGE, were resulting in excessively lengthy (sometimes in the dozens or hundreds of pages) statements. The full details are now available online.

iPhone Atlas reader Brian writes:

"I just got a free text message from AT&T, letting me know they have turned off my detailed billing, and if I need it restored, to call them. 'AT&T free msg: We are simplifying your paper bill, removing itemized detail. To view all detail go to att.com/mywireless. Still need full paper bill? Call 611.'"

So I guess I won't get a 300 page bill?
