GUI-based iPhone unlocking tool updated: AnySIM 1.0.2 faster, bugs fixed

The iPhone Dev Wiki has posted a new release of AnySIM, the free, GUI-based iPhone application that unlocks the device to work on carriers other than AT&T. The developers of the new release state:

"[...] version 1.02 fixes a lot of bugs regarding the timing and false fail report issues. For now, this version of anySIM should unlock your phone relayable, if possible. Also the whole process was speeded up a lot. The used up nck issue is not yet addressed in this update, it will be fixed with a seperate tool soon."

Note that this update is not expected to work with the forthcoming software/firmware update from Apple that will purportedly break current unlock mechanisms and may render unlocked phones inoperable.

AnySIM 1.0.2 is available as a ZIP file you can download and extract then move to your iPhone via this 5-step process. Alternatively (and more easily) you can add this repository -- http://iphone.blurgle.ca/repo -- to Installer.app (see our guide for installing and using Installer.app) to download the application directly to your iPhone, via these steps (from Conceited Software):

1. Launch Safari on the iPhone
2. Enter http://iphone.blurgle.ca/repo in the url box and hit go. (not having a trailing slash matters)
3. A dialog will pop up asking you if you want to add the repository, click "Yes".
4. Installer.app will add the source
5. Go back to Installer.app and install AnySIM
