Delete iPhone SMS messages one at a time

Though we're still searching for a way to delete multiple email messages from the iPhone simultaneously, an enterprising developer has now developed a native third-party application that will allow you to delete individual SMS text messages instead of simply clearing conversations (the iPhone's only option, by default), which will delete all text messages with a given contact.

The interface is still a bit clunky -- messages are organized and labeled by incoming number, not contact name -- and there are some quirks (like the misspelling of the word "Delete"). Still, this third-party app fills a lapse in functionality, and we can only hope for more like it.

The application can be downloaded and installed from the Utilities section in Installer.app. For more information on using Installer.app, see our iPhone Applications guide.

I'm still hoping to be able to send one SMS note to multiple recipients or to re-send something, so I don't have to type it all over again!

I use weTool
http://app.weiphone.com/installer

Add as a source to installer, this allows you to re-send SMS or to add multiple recipients, as well as copying a particular SMS to a note (save as note)

It also manages the individual call deletion, so there's no need or SMSD or callID

Hope it does you some good, take care.

You can delete ALL your SMS text messages at once, from here:
http://www.utternerd.org/Delete+all+SMS+Text+Messages+off+your+iPhone+at+once

This is really helpful if you've got a huge list of text messages and you don't want to have to double-tap them all. (i.e. Those of us who get alarms 24x7 from servers...)
