iPhone Weather app can't display below zero

It appears that the Weather application on the iPhone (powered by Yahoo! Weather) can't display temperatures below zero degrees fahrenheit. As reported by one user on the Apple Discussions board:

"I live in Alaska. The temps here have all been below zero F or more than -18C but the weather reported on the iphone never goes below zero F. right now it is -13F and going to Yahoo says this but the iphone shows 0F. "

While the Weather application will display temperatures lower than zero degress fahrenheit in the extended forecast and the high/low temperature for the day, the current temperature reading cannot step below this threshold. Yahoo's Web-accessible weather data will show temperature data below zero degrees, so this appears to be an easily fixable bug in the iPhone app.

Why is this even an issue??... I mean the REAL problem is that someone would actually LIVE where the temperatures get below zero! Ick!

You are obviously as stupid and uneducated as you seem. It is not nice to insult where other people live. So go crawl back into your warm hole until you have something that adds to the discussion.

I did some testing... This is only a problem with Fahrenheit, not Celsius/Centigrade. Negative numbers show fine in C. I used North Pole, AK as a test, where it's apparently quite cold.

I can confirm that in C the phone does fine. Thankfully it is not cold enough in Moscow today to check if it works in F.

I think this is actually a feature of the iPhone, rather than a bug. If you think it's 0 when it's actually colder, you might not feel as cold... You're only as cold as you feel!

That is, until you notice that your fingers have frostbite when you're checking the temperature.

Maybe it's just that it doesn't like Alaska. I'm sitting here right now looking at -3? F as the current temperature in Vienna, ME.

Is your iPhone jailbroke (jailbraked? jailbroken?)? I had a -2? this morning in Chicago.
