Some users are reporting iPhone-related problems after installation of iTunes 7.6.1.

iPhone not recognized in iTunes Apple offers a number of potential fixes for this issue in Knowledge Base article #305716. Particularly successful for Windows users experiencing this problem is the procedure listed under "Verify iPhone Driver/Service Installation."

"Other" taking up too much space Several users have reported that after syncing iPhones with iTunes 7.6.1, the devices' "Other" storage space swells dramatically -- sometimes to several GB.

The recurring fix for this issue is to restore the iPhone as follows: Connect your iPhone to your computer, then in iTunes, select your iPhone and click the Restore button under the Summary tab. Restoring the phone will erase contacts, calendars, photos and other data stored only on the phone, but will restore automatically backed-up information including text messages, notes, call history, contact favorites, sound settings, widget settings, etc.

Restoring will also eliminate any unofficial third-party applications and undo jailbreak procedures.
