The iPhone Dev-Team reports that they have successfully jailbroken the iPhone 2.2 firmware. According to their post:

"The second beta of firmware version 2.2 has been out for a few days. It looks like Apple still doesn?t have a fix for devices already prone to the pwnage jailbreak and unlock.

We wondered aloud if the App Store restrictions might revive the Jailbreak scene and we noted that Steve Wozniak supports the scene.

The liberal jailbreak community showed the conservative Apple community that 'apps' are the future of the iPhone; Apple should 'doff their chapeau' to them.

If Apple allowed apps that people want (one such obvious example is Cycorder, for example) then there wouldn't be such a huge jailbreak scene. Jeez, all I want to do is take a movie on my iPhone. Apple won't let me. So I will continue to jailbreak until Apple get their heads out of their behinds.
