Win (and promote) iPhone apps at AppGiveaway

If you're an iPhone/iPod Touch user who likes to win free stuff or an iPhone developer who wants to generate some buzz about your product(s), look no further than AppGiveaway.

True to its name, AppGiveaway lets developers give away promo codes--and lets users register to win them. It's like eHarmony meets the App Store meets, um, some site that holds contests. Thankfully, there's no cost for either party.

AppGiveaway lets you enter to win promo codes for apps like this.

The site offers new giveaways every day. And not just one measly app: there were seven added today alone.

To throw your name into the virtual drop-entry-form-here box for any given app, just click through to read its description, and then click "Enter this giveaway." (If you haven't already registered, you'll need to do that first. It's a one-time e-mail confirmation process.)

If you're a developer, you need to register as one (as opposed to as a user) in order to submit your app for a giveaway. Of course, you also get to pimp the app with a sexy description, screenshots, links, and a Buy Now option for those who didn't win but want the app anyway.

It would be nice if the site showed a tally of how many people had entered a particular giveaway, or gave you a way to keep tabs on which giveaways you've entered. How about a way to sort giveaways so you can see those that are about to end (and sneak in your entry under the wire)?

Even so, AppGiveaway makes it a snap to enter app contests and, potentially, win free stuff. As for developers, it definitely looks like a way to get your app on the map, if only temporarily. (What do you say, devs? Is this a handy service, or does it need more, well, development?)

By the way, I entered two giveaways on the day I wrote this post -- and won one of them. I think the chances of winning are excellent right now, as not many people know about the site. Check it out!

I posted an app I wrote for giveaway, and I have not had anyone download it yet with the promo codes. Could be my app was not interesting enough to attract attention, or it could support what you are saying that people are still finding out about the site.

This is a great opportunity to get the word out about your iPhone/ iPod touch application. A very professionally done site with lots of potential. One of those "Why didn't I think of that ideas" :) . Looking to hear great things about this site in the future.

I just submitted my new gaming application yesterday to AppGiveaway.com, it's called Cockroach Crunch we will see what the numbers are like after the giveaway is up. Apple Just approved it yesterday also, it too Apple about 2 weeks to approve it on my first submission of it no rejects. It's a fun, challenging stress relieving game where you kill cockroaches with your finger and get new weapons. The bonus 3D Sniper round is awesome, great graphics and sound effects. Check out the video on my website or go to AppGiveaway.com and try to win a free copy.

Doesn't work as a promotion site, show me one developer that can demonstrate an impact on sales from posting on AppGiveaway. Only thing it does is use your codes.

If a user sees an app on the site, instead of buying it, he enters a lottery hoping to get it for free. By the time the lottery ends, he forgot about the app. So what the site does is kill any impulse buy.

There is a site, where you can post your app and your codes and users can get one code every 24 hours.

The site is http://promodsipenser.com

Users ahve to comment and rate your app on promodispenser and they are asked to copy+paste their reviews also into iTunes. At least 80% of the users will do it. They can get a new code only if they post a review.

Reviewing your app on promodispenser at 100% (depends only on time).

My app had 6 reviews and 9 ratings within hours on the first day on itunes. My company's site was visited in 2009 from other promo sites like appgiveaway 1-3 times. From promodispenser I got over 150 visits within a few days.

Try it out! Promo downloads also count toward your ranking on itunes!

I just wanted to let you all know we have added a new feature to www.appgiveaway.com (Developers can now view how many registered users entered a giveaway as well as how many people viewed their listing on the AppGiveaway.com website.

All this is available in the Developers control panel on the App Giveaway website under the heading stats.
