iPhone 3G S and OS 3.0 photos

We couldn't grab hands-on photos of the iPhone 3G S at the WWDC 2009 keynote, so we delved into Apple's Web site to find out what press shots the company had to offer.

Since the new handset's design is unchanged from the iPhone 3G we'll save you a gallery of exterior photos, but we'll show how the 3G S's unique features will look on the display. Again, these are shots supplied by Apple--we haven't tested the new device yet--but they'll give you an idea of what to expect from the compass, Voice Control and video editing.

We also invite you to revisit the iPhone OS 3.0. We used the beta version of the update on our CNET iPhone for a couple of months now so these are real screenshots. You may have seen most of them before, but we've added a few new shots following the OS 3.0 highlights from the keynote. Enjoy!

you gotta give it to apple for their always top-notch hyper-marketing..... so what's so exciting on this new iphone (video-editing is barely).... in general you always feel cheated by apple for having to buy buy buy buy their better version products or even just peripherals... they launched iphone 3g only 12 months after the original iphone (still ok), but then they said that OS.3's MMS capability wont work on the original iphone - you feel "damn, i think i gotta upgrade my device"... now 3GS's coming along and they said that OS3's advanced/3d graphical capability wont be compatible w/ the iphone 3G.... what the hell ? either its their business model to make you buy more...or their incapability of thinking ahead at least for the next short stage.... its not about "oh other manufacturers have different products with different features some with 3g some dont, some with autofocus some not", you feel that because of the similarity , the 3 iphones are one same product and should have the same capability to perform features available in the next upgrade... whereas with other manufacturers, their products are physically different so we're more acceptable that if each has different features....
