Apple on Thursday released an update for the iPhone SDK, bringing the current version of the SDK to 3.1.2.

The new SDK 3.1.2, which now includes Xcode 3.2.1, is available in versions that are compatible with Leopard and Snow Leopard for iPhone and iPod Touch developers.

The update, according to information we received from a developer, contains general bug fixes for the SDK and Xcode. Dashcode is reported to now support the creation of Web applications that are optimized for Safari on the iPhone, PC, and Mac.

If you've seen and used this new update, please tell us about your experiences with it in the comments.

i have recently downloaded the newest 3.1.2 version software for my ipod touch, and have played around with it a little. I have noticed one specific problem that has come up, and that is, my album artwork for my music is all jumbled. for example i will select a song and as the album artwork i will get the cover of a television show ive purchased, or ill select a song and i will get a picture of the genius mixes cover for that one song. Apple must get their act together because it is frustrating to listen to "Hotel California" by the Eagles but get the album artwork for DJ KHALED "we the best"

Gosh THANK GOD!!! I was on of the Iphone 3G users that had major battery and coma problems with 3.1.1 and I got really really frustrated with Apple. I thought I could trust their little updates. Boy was I wrong. Their software bug in 3.1.1 really messed with my quality of service. I had to turn 3G off in order to prevent the major battery and coma mode so I couldn't access anything of interest while on the road.

3.1.2 seemed to have fixed all those problems. Next time I am going to wait a week or two before installing.
