Klipsch Image S4i a great buy for iPhone owners

The Klipsch Image S4i earphones are nearly identical to their sibling, the Image S4. They not only provide the same comfortable fit and stellar sound quality, but also offer the added bonus of an integrated mic and call answer button, as well as volume controls and remote playback for the iPod. Call quality through the inline mic is solid, though not overly spectacular for a wired headset. At $99, the Image S4i costs $20 more, which is probably worth it for those with an iPhone. For more information, read our full review of the Klipsch Image S4 headphones.

Great headphones, just be aware that only the iPhone 3GS works with the volume controls. 3G only allows you to use the center button for pausing, answering the phone and skipping tracks. Other than that love these things. Its great hearing details in music that I never even knew were there. I recommend burning your cds in or converting downloaded FLAC files to apple lossless to get the best audio quality. I use Max (http://sbooth.org/Max/) for the conversions.

My problem with the Image S4 is they don't fit my ears. I've tried the adapters but they start to slip and I lose the bass frequencies. If they fit your ears they sound good.

I liked the sound on my Etymotic ER-6i's so much better than my S4's. The ER-6i's were all about clarity and isolation and the S4's sound so bass-heavy in comparison to the point it kind of distorts the sound.

I love my S4i's. Some things to know about them.....The earbuds are smaller than average in my opinion. I have medium to small ears and the Large tips just barely fit (im not sure if there is an ear small enough for the the SM tips). As noted in the S4 review, the cord is kinda flimsy and feels weak but I take care of it pretty well so I am not worried. One of the best parts of the S4i is the pouch that it comes in I think its stylish and alot more practical than the tin case the S4 comes in. The sound quality is great and I am very happy with my purchase.

Are these supposed to work out of the box or do you need to turn something on in settings for the buttons to work with 3GS? Bought a set yesterday but the buttons don't appear to have any effect!
