Today, Sprint and Samsung trotted out the Samsung Galaxy Victory 4G LTE, a phone it's billing as a stepping stone for smartphone first-timers.

The Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich device features faster data speeds, a 4-inch display, and a 1.2GHz dual-core processor. There's also a 5-megapixel camera, a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, and Sprint ID, which lets you load entire profiles based around a theme.

NFC is on here, and Google Wallet will be ready to go for those seeking an opportunity to pay for products with a tap, assuming they're eligible to tie it to their bank accounts, that is.

The starter smartphone will cost $99 starting on September 16, after a $50 mail-in rebate. Just keep in mind that the rebate will come in the form of an American Express rewards card.
