The Samsung Galaxy Proclaim is proof that Samsung hasn't forgotten about the lesser-known prepaid carriers like StraightTalk and Net10. The Android 2.3 Gingerbread handset offers entry-level smartphone features for a reasonable price -- $179.99 in Net10's case.
The handset has a 3.5-inch touch screen, which is small for 2012. It has a 3-megapixel camera lens and is powered by a 1GHz single-core processor. The 1,500mAh battery could potentially give it longer life; Samsung rates it at 5.5 hours of talk time and 15 days of battery life.
Data speeds will be slow with Net10, but Android gives the phone Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and apps aplenty through the Google Play store. The Galaxy Proclaim will come with a 2GB microSD card for additional storage, and will take a total of 32GB in off-board storage.
