That's right, scoop up all the advertising revenue these thousands of hits are getting you. Thank Turn 10 for giving you hits and money!
Seriously, what did you think a poll like this on a public site would come down to.
NO ONE REALLY CARES!
Just by posting the link on Forza forum would have received a similar response. What amuses me is that there has to be a similar link on a GT website somewhere for the number of votes that GT5 has received.
Another way to look at it is the Community website that T10 has provided for Forza fans and players is an extremely organized and close community wishing the best for what is going to be another great product put forward and more importantly supported and interacted with by the creators on a continual basis after release.
Yes, I am a Forza Fan, could there be any other kind.
As an example of community interest, there was a thread started on the Playstation forum this morning for this. In 3 hours it got 9 views and 1 post. 2 of those views were mine. In the same time frame of 3 hours from thread inception on Forzamotorsport.net there were 190 posts.
There is a GT forum with a thread going as well it has reached 4 pages since it's inception with 20 posts per page, on the Forza forum it is at 62 pages with 20 posts per page.
Okay, I am not discussing the merits of each game but more so how well developed the Community website is for Forza and the extremely active communty that is involved with the franchise.
There is also a thread on the Forza forum started by a community member of both forums calling for a more civil approach to the discussion. In that, I agree with him. Both games have there fans, both games are great additions to the gaming/ racing genre. Both deserve the respect for what they have and are accomplishing, some of which for us will be preference and some will be loyalty.
In the end I am a follower of Forza as I believe that franchise has done more in recent years to develop and take care of their fan base's desires and needs.
I loved the original GT, and it is the reason I bought Forza 2. I have wanted a game that lets me go a step farther than the GT series does, and Forza makes me feel like I have more connection with my car collection. It's more personal. If I create a really great tuning setup, I can actually draw my name or a personal logo on the side of the car and sell it to other players. Then I could, one day, end up in a race next to a car of my own design. That's pretty cool too.
It's fine for GT to add a "NASCAR mode", but what makes NASCAR and all types of racing different from one another is the rules of the league. How can GT include a "NASCAR mode" without having the NASCAR rules integrated into the game? Does it limit the weight distribution to each tire? Can you adjust the spring rate of each tire individually? Is the fuel load and consumption tracked with high accuracy? Can you make changes to aerodynamics and suspension tuning mid-race? Can you change only the right-side tires and take only a half load of fuel to save pit time? Is there a caution flag and a pace car? Harumph.
Pretty graphics are great, and GT looks better. However, I think both games are good enough that I'm happy with the graphics. Once the graphics get good enough, making them a little better doesn't really affect me. At that point I'm just interrested in the gameplay. How much stuff is there for me to do in the game. How many different things are there for me to master, and how do those things come together. How many different ways are there for my brother and I to play together? Can my 13 year old daughter and I both enjoy this game and play it together?
I really think that Forza has become a better series than GT. To me, Forza seems like a slightly improved spiritual succsessor to the GT series. It seems to me that Forza has all the important parts of the GT series that make it so much fun, then they added a few important little bits to make it even more fun.
The competition between the two series has given us all some really great games, that's for sure, no matter which is your favorite.
The difference between GT5 and Forza is the same difference between the Xbox and the PS3. The Xbox is more community based. IT has better friend connectivity and communication. I prefer being able to easily play with my friends than the number of cars available.
Forza has better community features. From being able to share cars, paint them and put them on the auction house, view recent online races, damage, and multiplayer it has been the innovator in console sims. GT5 is copying Forza with the racing line, damage, and multiplayer. GT5 has finally realized they need those features these days.
Forza also has Road America. As a Wisconsinite I have to love that.
However, the advantage GT5 has is more cars, tracks, and styles of racing. This is why I am also getting GT5.
GT5 has:
Shinier graphics
Rally cars
Forza3 has:
Better customization
Better physics
Better damage+rollover
Better community tools
Larger comfier controller
Release date this century
Both games will be awesome, but Forza seems more complete for my gaming habits.
If voters are parachuted in from one forum, such as the official XBox forum, and the SONY forum locks any similar request for votes, this poll just gets to be more and more lop-sided each passing day.

What's funny is that even with that, Gran Turismo has been catching up since yesterday and will likely win out when the poll closes.

Showing 2 of 6 pages (211 Comments)PD- have been nothing but professionals, even when Turn 10 have repeatedly offended them.
At the end of the day, it will be nice to see how foolish Turn 10 looks.
