Okay, let's set all these GT5 PS3 fanboys straight.

**** about the number of cars. It really doesn't matter, considering you won't have a fraction of the Forza customization options.
GT5 is not a racing sim. It is more of an arcade race game. Forza is for one thing - realism. That's why it is more realistic.
The only thing that GT5 has on the Forza series is graphics. Too bad all they have is a measly little demo to show for it.
Forza 3 will be out a year and a half before GT5 will ( accounting for the predictable sony push-backs. )

Both look great but GT5 look more like stadium racing while Forza looks more like freestyle organized racing if you know what I mean.
(Is GT5 for 360?)
Thats what I think!

I like Forza 3 and GT5 ive playd the GT series and forza series.
GT got many many cars and tracks , Forza got good game feeling and car costumation but i dont know which are best of GT5 or Forza 3 , cus GT5 got AMASING graphics and Forza 3 got awesome car costumation ( i think that ) and some more stuff. I just say that GT5 is a great racing game so if u like racing take GT5 and Forza got great car costumation and game feling so if u like costumate cars and drive them take Forza 3. But i cant know what u like but i like Forza 3 and mayby im going to buy GT5 later but Forza 3 is coming about 12 days ( Europe ) and GT5 mayby 1 or 2 years.
But one thing is that GT5 beats Forza in graphics + cars + tracks and Forza beats GT5 in car costumation etc.
So im woting 5/5 to GT5 and Forza 3. And eweryone take what game they like i take both so good luck with the games ewerybody :)

Couldn't have put it better myself, each of them has there strong points, for those who actually want a race or two with almost any sort of car and almost any sort of track and be done with, GT5 is most likely the one to go for, however if you prefer to customise your car more, go with Forza simple.

BTW, I prefer GT5, one of the main reasons is the PS3 and if anything from history is to be learned, old technology will get replaced, bit like DVD's in fact so no Forza if they don't upgrade if/when it all goes Blu-Ray.

I say Forza beats GT5 in tracks too. "Buy Forza 3 or may the fleas of 100 camels infest your armpits."

Gran Tursimo has always been garbage.

Forza 3 seems to be more about precision and the perfect drive, GT5 is raw racing in high quality, I don't think these two brilliant games should be competing for the publics vote, because they are so different.

I don't understand all this GT5 has more car stuff. GT4 has like 30+ versions of the skyline, 12 or so WRXs, 14 or so Miatas, 20 or so evos, 14 NSXs that they all count as 1 unique car. Some are just slight trim differences without any significant exterior or performance difference. And what's up with all the cars having 276 HP and 28x ft/lbs of torque in GT. I don't know, I enjoy both games but I think Forza has better tuning. Engine swaps alone make me like tuning cars in Forza more than the GT series. I don't really care for all the paint and stuff but I guess it's cool.

I am a big fan of the gt series i play it from the very beginning. From the first to the last including gt4 prologue and gt concept. BUT from the day i tried FM i realised i was playing what i was thinking of a racing sim.
From the handling to physics, damage, AI, everything in FM2 seems so close to reality! Even better without driving help and with the wonderful microsoft wheel! ( the best wheel for console ever, far better than ps3's with good technology good grip good size etc)
when i am playing forza it feels so much real, i actually have... FUN!
gt has many cars, true but i realised later that a lot of cars were many versions of the same models (5 versions of the same car with the same specs 280hp same weight but many names or years (98', 99' etc) (especially on japanese cars)
you end up with 400 cars at best so not much than forza lol and forza has pretty good graphics on my hd screen even obviously not better than gt.
Anyway, NO MATTER HOW GOOD GRAPHICS ARE, HOW MANY CARS IT HAS, THE MOST IMPORTANT IS TO HAVE FUN WHEN PLAYING! ( because its a game huh?)
when playing FM I am having fun. I smile and it feels good. True! I am speaking as a gt fan ( i ll always be!) but with FM Im feeling like racing for real and this is all that counts. Isnt it?
Both games are great i ll buy em both for sure but IMO FM is more fun and more reallistic. FM is for those who are looking for real driving feeling, deep customization, fun and rage fans around the world! Gt is for those ppl looking for the best looking racing game, virtual car collection, and for those thousands car fans around the world! 2 games 2 ways of playing, no comparison, no wars. Just take the one that fits you the best. Or both.

Forza has no mroe than 2 versions of the same car, and this occurs only about 9 times. Such as the Dodge Charger from 1969, and from 2009, but that is just epic. "Buy Forza 3 or may the fleas of 100 camels infest your armpits."

I've played the GT series since it's original incarnation - I hate to think of the number of hours I've spent immersing myself in these games over the years! It's perhaps the only gaming series I've followed to such an extent so I certainly have a soft spot for it - but I admit it is not perfect by any means.

For me, GT2 and GT3 were the highlights of the series so far. GT2 was simply a bigger, better version of GT1 that had a seemingly endless resource of races and cars and some of the best tracks (Rome Night anyone?).

GT3 blew me away with it's looks and improved physics and kept my attention for a good couple of years. However, GT4 has not moved me so much and I fear this will be the case if I decide to buy a PS3 (which is mainly just for the possiblity of GT5 to be honest). The reason being it was bigger, looked better, but just had no life to the gameplay element at all. the AI has been the same since GT1 and other than a few novelty features such as the oil changes, rear wing shop and more choices of wheels, the rest is all the same as the past games.

It was a very satisfying experience to work your way through the lesser races over an over and finally have enough credits to buy the Racing Modification in GT2 (one thing I really missed in GT3 & 4), even if the car in question was a 1988 Nissan Silvia. Games like Need For Speed, with their attention almost solely on the obvious shiny exotic cars and bling are just not as cool!

GT5 Prologue is impressive as a taste of what's to come - though I don't own a PS3 yet I have played it a lot at friend's houses - but doesn't have that 'magic' I expected. It just feels like a more refined, HD GT4. I hope the full game is as good as I wish it to be! GT4 Prologue was suprisingly fulfilling even though it was only a handful of cars and tracks. I guess we'll all just have to wait and see.

To throw a spanner in the works, I'm now awaiting the delivery of an Xbox360, having until now always been exclusively a Playstation person. I'm looking at getting Forza 3 because I love racing 'sims' and it looks like an enjoyable alternative to the Gran Turismo series, even as a 'while you wait' option.

It's not meant to beat GT5, its just an alternative and by the looks of it its strengths are in the right place - gameplay.

gran turismo 5 because it has better in-game graphics, dont have to pay for locked cars and more content in the game. I have all gt series...completed them all accept gt4 haven't finished and i use to have an 360-****** and forza 2
