Well i tried the bose & the beats & what i thought that the beats were going tobe better than the bose?? but i was wrong.. the Bose sound better because they have better audio quality, comfort & the price is not that bad... But for me i would choose between Bose, Sony or Sennheiser.. But i love the Sennheiser because all their prooducts are made with quality & cheap & they are German!

Read a lot of the comments posted here. After a while I started blanking out when someone comes in just to either hate or cheer on one brand. As someone looking to buy one or the other soon and tried both on at stores, just gonna throw in my 2 cents.

Oh the jjsoviet and atunari? and whoever else convo was interesting, especially since I'm a marketing major.

To all you Bose haters. A couple things you have to consider. I understand the issue about how Bose sound isn't the best for its price range, but neither is it ****. There was a reason for me to even be looking at these two headphones. The aspects of a headphone I was looking for were:

- Decent sound, most of the world isn't audiophiles, and we really can't tell the difference. Hell I've been living off Apple stock earphones for a while now
- Decent look. i'm sorry, but sometimes AT, Sennheiser, and ESPECIALLY Grado have these absurd weird looking designs, with metals and wires coming out all over the place. I just want something that won't be the center of attention in a train for all the wrong reasons. Bose has standard, elite looking design, and Beats even look chic. I do concur that there ARE some of the aforementioned brands that are still decent looking though.
- Mobile solution. Here's the thing, I want to walk around a lot with these plugged into my iphone. I need a microphone with the cable, one of the reasons why i used stock apple earphones for so long. This makes it so much more easy to receive calls, and even to start and stop music without reaching into my jeans.
- The detachable cords. I'm very rough on my cords, and they tend to fizz after half a year or so. I had Ultimate Ears before and boy I was freaking pissed they died a year and 2 days in. Bye bye $100+. With either of these brands I can easily purchase replacement cables wihtout replacing the whole damn thing. These last two specs are most important to me.

Now you know why people still buy these two brands? Does any of those super audiophile brands offer all these specs? Ok fine, the decent appearance part is subjective to different people.

I ended up getting the Bose, because of the music I listen to. Soul, R&B, acoustic vocals are best brought out by the Bose, while I would imagine mainstream dance and techno would work well with beats. I'm sorry rock and heavy metal fans, but you're not the majority here in the world.

Last note. Sure, overpriced products aren't cool. But when companies decide on costs, they factor in marketing cost. Do you honestly think the R&D costs of Bose and AT will be that different? AT might focus on best sound quality, but Bose spends a lot of money figuring out how to put the semi-best sound into the best (smallest) package, like these OEs. R&D at the end is just how much you pay for scientists to generate new tech, so it shouldn't be that different. Bose however spends more on marketing, so they HAVE to make up for that with the benefits of marketing, namely more brand awareness and therefore more products sold. I wouldn't be surprised AT and Grado actually EARN a lot more profit per unit than Bose.

did you try various models from the brands mentioned previously? i'm guessing not. you mention not wanting to buy some models because they are "weird" and "absurd" looking and would make you the center of attention. do you think sporting Beats or Bose don't draw attention from the ill informed masses who know what you payed for them? you are just as likely to be robbed of those, if not more, than sporting a less known pair of Denon, Sennheiser, Audio-Technica.

I've owned the QC2's before. I currently own the Monster Beats and I don't regret anything about passing on the QC2's. Keep in mind that the Beats were created by a renowned producer who's been in the industry for over a decade. These things knock. Got 808's? Plug the Beats in and crack a smile because you're heading into a audiophiles Nirvana.

Sorry Bose, you didn't win this one.

I am getting the new HTC One X this year for my birthday, and as it advertises, the cell-phone has built in Beats Audio. Whether this is a marketing gimmick, or atually a very good sound system, I do not know. I have decided that I want to get earphones for it. I have heard that the cotroltalk, and volume dont work on the iBeats for this phone. I need to decide whether I should get the UR-Beats, or some other brand. (Bose mabey)I like the style and proposed controltalk with mic. + other features on the beats.I have heard of duribility issues with the beats though! Suggestions?

I came to this site to find out which was better by people who really owned both but obviously this is a bash contest mostly by individuals who probably don't even own their own set. Money isn't an object for me so shopping around I found the Bose CQ15's at around $300 and the Beat by Dr. Dre around $400. I don't mind spending the money but want more if I'm going to pay more. I like the look and feel of the Bose CQ15 more than I did the Monsters which to me looked like candy cane for teenagers but again, if they produced better sound I'd go that route. Researching prices over the net I found you can score a far better deal with Bose such as on Amazon where I found CQ15's for $179 (reg. $300-$400). Bose has a long lived track record of increadible sound and quality I can trust compared to the few trash talking it here but with the monsters that just hit the market, they havn't had enough time to come down on price and you're probably paying more to put Dre's name on your ears. So not that Dre's ear phones aren't good, but with the best Bose on the market at half the price, I think I'll go with Bose CQ15 also attacheable with ipad, iphone and other apple products. I just wish it would link to my Samsung Galaxy iii S I just bought. Both should take on both the Apple and Droid market together to really knock out the competition or one another because that would be the final deciding factor if either supported the Droid second only to sound quality, brand names aside.

i have TRYIED both BRANDS and i know Bose do make good headphones and try to use their big science based team to create the clearest sound for headphones. on the other hand Beats (monster) do also make good headphones but they only focus on the deep sounds like dub step sounds and do not focus on the all round sound. this is where bose is very good they have all round sound. beats struggle on all round sound this where you choise is probably made are you someone who listen to dub step kind of music or someone is more listens acoustic and dance music . dub step music beat and other types Bose that my recommendation .

Dr. Dre, what can you say, over-priced junk for the audio dunce. Heavy on muffled bass, little clarity and high on price. WAY high on price. Listening to an MP3 is much like comparing a newspaper photo to being there live, especially compared to LP or CD. Having been in the audio business longer that Dre's been alive, buy yourself a pair of old vintage USED USA Made Koss Portapro's on Ebay and hear what real headphones sound like. Heck, any AKG Beyer or Sennheiser will blow away these designer toys. If you want a real treat, buy some used Stax headphones and have the absolute best there is.

This is not worth even talking over, Bose is known for its great noise cancelling and great audio. This is the main reason why I believe that Bose has a far more superior audio quality.

I've used Bose for years and thought that I had top notch quality bar none. Beats speakers and headphones systems have let me hear music in a way that I was missing for years. I played the same songs I'd been listening to for years on my Bose system on a Beats system and I heard new sounds that had never before been present. Had I known what I was missing I would have bought Beats a long time ago!

I've tried almost all the headphones out there. Skullcandy, Bose, Beats, and more. Though I can't say I've tried Sennheiser, I've heard a lot of good things about them. I used to own Beats Solo and Beats Studio. They both broke on me. It is true that the sound quality is better than your average headphones, but they're really fragile if you think of it. If you have opened up a pair of beats you can see that there is just a speaker, and an amplifier. The speaker is nothing special, the amp is doing all the work. After that, I used some In-Ear Samsung Galaxy headphones. Those were amazing. They tied with the beats quality. Then I tried iFrogz. Your everyday pair of In-Ear headphones for $20. Combined with the SRS Enhancement feature on my phone, It's AS GOOD AS BEATS! I didn't believe it! I now own Bose MIE2i In-Ear headphones and I can say that they are the best. If these break, Bose will give you a brand new pair and another warranty! I can't say the same for any other headphone brand! Bose is now my top favorite.
