For optimal sound quality, Definitive Technology recommends (and CNET concurs) that you should use this alternate hookup method:
- Connect the subwoofer to the audiovisual receiver’s front left and right speaker-level outputs, not to the line-level subwoofer output jack.
- Connect the front left and right satellites to the subwoofer's speaker level outputs.
- Connect the center and surround speakers to their respective receiver terminals.
- Set the audiovisual receiver's speaker setup menu with the front left and right speakers to "Large," the center and surround channels to "Small," with the subwoofer set to "No" or "None."
