"Dont review products you don't own."
Pros: Super fast, great screen depth and resolution
Cons: Should have had a case with it.
Summary: I deployed to Iraq with my Behemoth. I absolutely love it. I marvel at people who hear about the weight and are dismissive. This is my desktop here in Iraq. From watching movies to playing games, to instant messenger, I have yet to be disappointed. The only problem I have had is the reomte control is broken. I dont know it I did it or if it was broken at delivery. The main review said the game performance was bad. Nonsense. I play City of Heroes/Villains and it has not missed a beat. F.E.A.R., Civ4 and Oblivion also attest and bow before the power of Behemoth. seriously, I have had no problems playing them on the highest settings. I wish the manual gave more details about what all the various options. It will be months before I can figure out and take advantage of all the features. I took off one point for the weak manuals and the broken remote. Otherwise this product is a ten.

I have owned one for almost a week Currently testing mine out before the return policy is up. After that, I am stuck with it. Based on performance it is fantastic. I had 25 applications open and CPU and memory(2 gig) usages averaged at 50%. With 8 IE windows open, virus scanning, 2 GIS programs, Photoshop CS open, AutoCAD open, Adobe reader open, web cam on and few others running it stayed around 50%. I couldn't get it to start maxing out until I closed all the programs and rendered a very high resolution image using Lightwave 8 animation program, all the setting were at max. I don't know about other laptops in this class. This one you can change the speed of the CPU and it comes with DataSecurity. World Wind works remarkably fast when viewing cached data. I have played nice so far, but next I am going task it until it locks up. By running AutoCAD, Lightwave 8, Photoshop CS, GIS, defrag, virus scan while they all are preforming prolong processes.
The weight isn't bad to carry to and from the car. Besides a little exercise will do you good. This isn't for those who like to be mobile a lot. This isn't the type for carrying around like some cell phone or PDA. Still looking for a carrying case to fit this monster. It has a feature which makes some windows semi-transparent. Useful to see popup or things hiding behind your active windows. Plus makes it harder for people to look over your shoulder at a distance. Touch pad with the button in the middle is an improvement over previous ones. Well, I realize more power means less battery life on any laptop.
I agree with the average rating on here. I disagree about the points made. Some useful aspects are left out. I guess they have to review hundreds of laptop and it is their job. Some of us require more detail dissection, like me. Using it for everything from A to Z when there isn't another computer around. -
I was so impressed by the performance of this machine, I bought two of them! Using the dimensions of the enclosed styrofoam, I had a case made for one of them, while the other one I configed for raid 0, and can use flawlessly as a Tivo-type movie program recorder. This is definitely a "Man-show" sized toy with the future in mind. Buh-bye Toshiba!
