Summary: Now first off, i have to give a huge round of applause to apple for making me this laptop ^_^
There is absolutely nothing wrong with it, and apple is ahead of it's years (yet again), and i will get to why i gave it a lower rating of an 8 in a minute...
I always have to do some sort of comparison between rivaling companies, so here it is.
For Apple: iMovie HD, iDVD, and GarageBand all pre-installed.
For Microsoft: Windows Movie Maker pre-installed.

There's a massive difference between Windows Movie Maker and those 3 programs.
Using the iSight camera, I can quickly make my own videos and add music to them with iMovie HD.
Then I travel over to GarageBand, give my video a score and add in little "Zings" and "Crickets" (hehe).
Then, on to iDVD where I give my video/s a menu screen, end credits, and then burn them to dvd.
The end result is a professional looking DVD, which can rival prfessional made DVD's.
Now, with Windows Movie Maker it's a whole different story.
Simply load your videos, add some music and end credits and POOF!
You're done, and it makes for a quick, personal home video.
Most applications on Apple are built to do more things, and sometimes even be simpler than Windows counterparts.

And i honestly don't see why so many people hate apple.
I mean seriously, you can't honestly say that Windows is better than Apple.
The only reason that Apple owns 3% of the market, and not 97% is strictly because of the price of their machines and available 3rd party applications.
Apple has always ben about innovation, and Microsoft has always been about money.
3rd party applications is what kills the Macintosh.
Even though most 3rd party applictions nowadays are available for both Macintosh and Windows, everything is "Windows Reccomended" meaning that if you have a Macintosh, you will get a previous version of the application.
Also, games have an impact on the Macintosh, but i don't care for pc games so... meh.
Which is the reason I am giving the MacBook Pro an 8/10.
when judging a computer, you can't just judge the computer itself, you have to judge everything about it (which is why i don't understand how pc's get rated so high, hehe).
If i were just judging the computer, i'd have to give it a 20/10, because it is just splendid.
Oh yeah...
That BS about how 3rd party applications (that run on the MacBook Pr) like photoshop run "twice as slow, while 1st party applications run twice as fast" is a complete load of BS.
My photoshop doesn't run twice as fast or twice as slow...
It's in the middle.
It runs at the same speed as any windows pc.
the thing about 1st party applications running twice as fast is very much true though.
My advice:
If you want a working computer for animation, imaging, video, publishing, etc... then this is the computer for you.
If you want a gaming computer, or one just to have fun and surf the web with...
get a pc (but please don't get an AMD, those break down like flies).
Really, if you just want a fun little computer, don't spend $2,500.00 for it.
Or you can just wait 'til next year when apple releases their Multi Core systems that run all 3 OS's (Windows, OSX, and Linux) meaning that you can switch OS's simultaneously, taking away the application problem with macs.
I got this mac to be able to work on and do stuff with, but if I got it as a generic computer...
I wouldn't be very happy, but since i did get it to work i'm very pleased with it.
Believe me about the AMD thing, I know so many people that had problems with them, and I've had one... I even made a pretty ********* review about it, lol.
That would just about cover it all, so thank you for your time.
