"Why bother?"
Pros: can't think of any
Cons: lots, keep reading
Summary: First, it?s heavy and chunky for a UMPC compare with Q1 ultra?s slim 630gram. It looks cool, but build quality is rubbish. After half a year?s use, the paint on the ?aluminium? body start falling off to reveals the plastic underneath.
Overall performance is horrible due to slow Celeron M processor, especially slow when in battery mode. But no hard feeling, who expects to do any heavy duty work on this machine, we want a cool machine can run a long time on battery. Stop dreaming, it became unbearably hot after about half an hour web surfing. The battery, last around one hour web surfing.
Wireless has very weak signal and constantly falling off about 10 yards from my router. This is a driver problem as it works fine on vista. But this machine just can?t cope vista and Asus can?t bother to offer a driver update.
Hard to use the device with native screen resolution because some windows don't fit on screen properly. In addition, the mouse it?s a pain to use, very heavy and not accurate. Dial key is good, but don?t work on the hard touch screen Asus applies on the R2H
GPS was very finnicky to get working. On a nice sunny day in the open field, I got 3 satellites after 5 minutes waiting.
Most included software is badly implemented and buggy, or just shouldn't be there at all
