"Major Insult"
Pros: The Compaq name is an industry standard for quality server hardware; however, their laptop line must have been made by Fisher Price.
Cons: Within the first three months of ownership: Two keyboard keys popped off (no, I don't type that hard), which required a full keyboard replacement, which required sending it in, which required a full format and reload of software; the monitor flickered co

I was 'given' a Presario 2100, it had 3 keys missing from the qwerty. After confirming the model of my keyboard I bought the three keys from a guy on eBay and fitted them myself. Although fiddley, it was straight forward. So my view is, the extra 'work' carried out could have been avoided and who knows .. maybe it was !
I find, all reviews and specs etc seem to have shortfalls, in that I can't find the info I'm after ... I need to know the capabillities of the motherboard; in respect of ram speed and capacity.. i.e my lappy contains 266mhz sticks... can I use 333? My ram is pc 2100 can I use 2700?
Also, does anyone out there have any install discs for the board that they no longer need? -
