"Worthless and Money Draining"
Pros: ultra light, great sound, great screen
Cons: you will end paying what you paid for the computer if not more in repairs and horrible warranty
Summary: i purchased this laptop in 2003 from the manufacturer. i didnt have it a year and i had to replace a harddrive b/c it burned out. then the next year i had to replace another harddrive and they sent me some refurbished piece of crap and voided out my warranty. so...that same year when the thing went out on me, the place that fixed it found that it was the motherboard and so i had to pay $300something dollars for a replacement and $250 for the labor. Then last year i had to replace the soundcard....and a screen....that came to a very expensive total of $500. well...3 months ago the motherboard burned out again, and i'm stuck with no computer for class and no $$$ to buy another one b/c i spent my savings over the process of 2003-2007 repairing this worthless piece of junk! so total after everything, i have spent over the amount that i paid for the laptop from the Compaq site and i'm left SOL!!! Why didnt i just sell it or buy another one during that 4 yr period? Try paying tuition, rent, medical bills, insurance, and other real world real life expenses off of a measley salary while trying to further your education so that you can get a better job and tell me how you feel. so before anyone decides to attack me on this issue i just thought i would let you know. why whine about it now? b/c i'm irritated that i have put almost double what this POS laptop cost into repairs for it and my grades have suffered in the process thats why!!!!
